Arrest after pedestrian dies in Rushcliffe road collision

Police have arrested a 25-year-old man following a suspected hit-and-run in which a man died.

Officers were called to Park Lane, Sutton Bonington, shortly after 10pm on Saturday 30 October to reports that a pedestrian had been in a collision with a car.

Unfortunately he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a shocking incident in which a man has tragically lost his life.

“Officers have worked incredibly hard and we have now arrested a man in connection with this incident. He has been interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this time and we will continue to support them as our investigation into the incident continues.

“But I would still urge anyone who may have any CCTV footage from that evening to come forward and contact us as it may help us with our investigation.”

Anyone who has any information or footage of the incident is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 806 of 30 October 2021.
