Arrest after report of man throwing concrete slabs at houses in Mansfield

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after Nottinghamshire Police officers received a report that a man was smashing windows and throwing concrete slabs at properties.

It happened in the Ladybrook area at around 3pm yesterday (Friday 10 July). Officers attended and a man was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage, attempted burglary and an assault.

A child suffered a cut to the head having been hit with a concrete slab and required treatment in hospital.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Moore said: “We received a report that a man had gone on a rampage attacking properties in Mansfield.

“Several people came out of their homes as a result of the commotion and sadly a child got caught injured in the incident.

“We won’t tolerate violence and disorder and my team continues to work hard to gather evidence on this case.”
