Arrest after reported ‘glassing’ at a Nottingham pub

Nottinghamshire Police has arrested a suspect after a man needed hospital treatment for eye injuries following a reported glassing at a pub in Eastwood.

Officers were called to a report of an assault at The Lady Chatterley pub, in Nottingham Road, Eastwood, at around 11.30pm on Sunday (28 April 2024).

The 55-year-old victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital for treatment. 

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 35-year-old man on Monday (29 April 2024) on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was subsequently released on conditional bail while detectives continue their investigation. His bail conditions include not to enter the pub and not to contact the victim.

Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances around this attack. 

“Violence involving weapons will not be tolerated. While our inquiries remain ongoing we would urge anyone who saw the incident, has footage, or any information which could assist us to please come forward as soon as possible.”
