Arrest after sexual assault incidents at Forest Rec Nottingham

Police officers arrested a sexual assault suspect in a recreation ground in the early hours of the morning.

Officers are investigating an alleged incident of sexual assault and exposure in the Forest Recreation Ground on Tuesday, March 5, and two further incidents in the following weeks.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, two officers approached a suspect in the park, detained and arrested him.

A 40-year-old man has now been charged with sexual assault, causing a female to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity, two counts of exposure and possessing a Class B drug.

Hussain, of Belper Road, Nottingham, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday and was released on conditional bail. He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 19 April.

Detective Sergeant Lee Kirk, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Incidents of this nature are extremely distressing for victims and are treated with the utmost seriousness. I am pleased we have now been able to identify and charge a suspect in this case.”
