Arrest after victim left with broken jaw in Edwalton assault

Police have made an arrest after a man was beaten up and left with a suspected broken jaw.

The victim was reportedly assaulted in Spinney Road, Edwalton, at around 2.50am on 27 November.

He is believed to have sustained a broken jaw, broken nose and swelling and bruising to his face.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has since been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty attack on the victim which has left him with injuries to his face including a potentially broken jaw.

“We have arrested a man in connection with this incident but our investigation is still continuing and we would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious.

“We would like to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with us as any information or CCTV footage will help us piece together the facts of what happened.”

Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 85 of 27 November 2021.
