Detectives investigating three bag snatch street robberies have arrested a suspect.
The first incident took place in Kelso Gardens, The Meadows, Nottingham, when a woman was approached from behind by an offender.
He tried to snatch her bag and then ordered her to hand it over. When she refused the victim was pulled to the ground.
The offender then fled with her bag around 7:10 am on 11 August 2024.
A further robbery took place shortly after midnight on 19 August when a woman had her bag snatched by force as she walked along Pavilion Road, West Bridgford.
The victim suffered a head injury when she fell to the floor and the offender fled with the bag and its contents.
A third robbery took place later the same day when a woman waiting for a bus in Arkwright Street had her bag snatched by a man riding a bicycle.
The offender escaped with the bag and its contents at 3.36pm and the victim called 999.
Detectives have been supporting the three victims while investigating each incident through analysis of CCTV footage and other local inquiries.
A 27-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of three robberies.
Detective Inspector Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“All three robberies were unpleasant experiences for the victims involved to go through.
“One woman suffered a nasty head injury and we never underestimate the emotional impact this sort of incident can have on people.
“We have been working hard on the investigation into each incident and this arrest is an important step.
“However, we still want to hear from anyone with any information or relevant footage who has not yet spoken to an officer.”
Anyone who can assist should call police on 101, quoting incident number 992 of 19 August 2024, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
