A man is in custody after officers tracked him down and arrested him in connection with an attempted burglary in the early hours this morning.
It was reported windows had been smashed with bricks and objects had been thrown at the front door at a house in Royston Close in The Meadows just after midnight.
Nothing was stolen from the property and the alleged suspect ran away from the scene.
Officers quickly located a 36-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.
Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, is leading the investigation. He said: “This incident would have undoubtedly been terrifying for the victim and we have worked hard and quickly to identify who did this.
“Through our enquires we have now arrested a man in connection with the incident. The man remains in police custody.
“The force takes reports of burglaries and weapon-related offences extremely seriously. Thankfully there was no report of any injuries.
“If anyone has any information or saw anything suspicious please call 101, quoting incident number 6 of 15 April 2021.”
