Police arrested three suspects and seized a machete after being called to a Nottingham home.
Officers attended Bracebridge Drive, Bilborough, around 9:25 pm on Sunday (12 January) following reports of a break-in at a flat.
Police said:
‘A group of youths was seen attempting to flee the address.
‘Following a search of the area and other enquiries, three suspects were arrested and remain in custody.
‘We found a machete inside a bag within the flat.
‘Three boys, aged 15, 15, and 16, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
‘One of the 15-year-olds was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug after cannabis was found during searches.
‘The victim reported that a watch had been stolen, and this was later recovered at the rear of the property.’
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould said: “The officers who attended the scene should be commended for making these arrests promptly and recovering the machete.
“It is always pleasing to take a dangerous weapon like this out of harm’s way.
“Our investigation into this incident is at an early stage, and we’d ask anyone with any information to come forward without delay.”
