Arrests after three taken to hospital in Nottingham knife incident

Officers have made a number of arrests after reports of an incident allegedly involving a knife.

Police were called to Southglade Road, Bestwood, Nottingham, at around 5am this morning to reports of an altercation.

Two men and a woman were taken to hospital but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

An investigation has been launched to investigate the circumstances and three men aged 22, 33, and 33-years-old have been arrested on suspicion of affray and grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“While incidents such as this are obviously concerning for residents, we believe this incident was self-contained and that all parties involved are known to each other.

“While the injuries sustained are not life-threatening, whenever a knife is used there is always potential for far more dangerous consequences and we will always take swift and robust action against weapon related crime.

“Our colleagues from the crime scene investigation team are working to establish the facts and we are currently in the early stages of our enquires.

“We are now appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard something in the area at that time to come forward with any detail that may help our investigation.
