A search of a car near Saxondale last night ended with the arrests of two men and the discovery of class A drugs.
Police spotted a suspicious car in the A52 at around 5pm and moved to bring it to a safe stop.
When officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s Operational Support Unit safely stopped the car at around 5.20pm, two men were questioned in connection with the recovery of suspected class A drugs from the car.
Both men, aged 65 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.
Detective Sergeant Simon Pearson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said “Our officers acted quickly to safely intercept the suspicious car and make two arrests in connection with the recovery of drugs.
“Nottinghamshire Police is committed to tackling drug crime and the recovery of class A drugs means a cut to the supply chain of potential drug dealers.
“Two men remain in custody for questioning in connection with the drugs.”
