Patrolling officers arrested two men in Old Market Square on Saturday after it was suspected they were dealing drugs.
CCTV operators spotted the pair acting suspiciously outside the Council House at about 4.30pm on 22 November.
Neighbourhood officers who were patrolling the nearby Christmas market ensuring a safe and enjoyable atmosphere, were alerted and arrested the pair following a brief struggle.

The men, both aged 20, were detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and taken into custody.

Chief Inspector Kylie Davies, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Earlier this week, we advised people to expect a high-visibility police presence around the Winter Wonderland attraction so people can feel safe and have an enjoyable time.

“That’s why officers were able to quickly respond when we were alerted to a possible drug deal.
“The arrests were in full view of the public and we want to ensure them that this was not a knife-related incident.

“The effects of drug crime are far reaching and can destroy lives, which is why it will not be tolerated in our city.
“Finally, we’d like to remind people that patrolling the Christmas market is something we do every single year when it takes place, so it is not unusual to see officers walking within the city centre and throughout the festivities that take place within the centre.”

We would like to stress that this is as a contingency and not in relation to any specific intelligence.’ #nottingham ♬ original sound – West Bridgford Wire News
