Attempted murder arrest after Sneinton stabbing

Detectives investigating a serious assault have arrested a suspect following a manhunt.

After receiving multiple reports from members of the public about a serious assault, officers quickly attended Sneinton Dale, Sneinton, shortly before 5pm on Wednesday (13 July).

The victim aged 35, remains in hospital where he is being treated for stab wounds.

A 23-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Kayne Rukas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have now made an arrest in relation to a serious incident that left a man in need of urgent hospital attention.

“I would like to again reassure the community that we believe all parties involved were known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public.

“Residents may see an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance to the local community as our enquiries continue.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to get in touch with us.”
