Beeston house raided as police continue drug dealing crackdown

Police are ramping up the pressure on those involved in drug crime in the Broxtowe borough after carrying out a warrant in Chilwell.

The Beeston Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by response colleagues, executed the Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address on Charles Avenue shortly after 9 am on Tuesday (13 December 2022).

Bags of cannabis and cannabis plants were found and seized within the three-bedroom semi-detached house.

A grow containing more plants was also uncovered in an outbuilding and the growing equipment was deactivated.

No arrests were made though inquiries remain ongoing following the proactive enforcement activity.

Sergeant Heather Harding, of the Beeston Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Cracking down on the illegal supply of drugs is one of our local policing priorities and the execution of warrants, such as this one, shows we will act on intelligence and take robust action to disrupt criminal activity if there is any suspicion of drugs offences being committed.

“Our message to anyone involved in the illegal supply of drugs is very clear: we’re watching you and it could be you next.

“We will continue to review every piece of information we receive from the public for opportunities to take positive action to tackle this issue.

“The support of and help of the local community is vital to our ongoing work and I would encourage people to let us know about any suspicious or unusual activity in their area so that we can target criminal or antisocial behaviour.”

If you have any concerns or see anything suspicious in your area, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
