Officers have arrested two suspects in connection with a report of a man being assaulted and robbed of his bicycle in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
It happened as a 19-year-old man was riding along Stoneyford Road at around 1.30 pm yesterday (Sunday 7 June 2020).
The victim suffered a split lip and a small cut under his eye during the assault.
After receiving information about one of the suspects, officers attended an address in the Fern Street area where they located the suspected stolen bike and arrested a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and possession of cannabis after officers searched him.
Both suspects remain in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Moore, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously hurt during this distressing incident and officers quickly managed to arrest two suspects and recover the suspected stolen bike.
“We treat all reports of robbery very seriously and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident.
