Police warn residents as bike thefts from open spaces increase in West Bridgford

Two bikes were stolen from Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road early evening of Monday 17th May.

Police said:
‘The key deterrent is the lock.
‘Almost all stolen bikes were secured with a weak lock which take seconds to cut through.
‘Police urge cyclists to secure their cycles with a strong lock such as a D-Lock.’
Notts Police & Rushcliffe Borough Council work in partnership to prevent and detect cycle theft and there is a scheme in place at The Arena to hire a D-Lock if required during your visit to the site.
Ensure your cycles are security marked and registered with BikeRegister (more bike marking events to be held soon & advertised on this page)
Please report anything suspicious to 101 or 999 for emergencies.
If anyone has any information which could help police with their investigation into cycle thefts they are urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
