Officers were quickly on the scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, who is leading the investigation, said: “I can confirm that formal identification has now taken place and we are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths and a file is now being prepared for the coroner.

“We are liaising with the family to offer them support following this incident and we’d appeal to the media to respect their privacy at this difficult time.”
