Bingham Market traders named ‘High Street Heroes’

Traders who form Bingham’s weekly traditional market have been named ‘High Street Heroes’ for their work in encouraging residents and visitors to shop in the town centre each week.

Based at the historic Buttercross Market Square, dozens of friendly traders offer shoppers a brilliantly vibrant range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, fish and household essentials every Thursday from 7.30am, with a Farmers Market every third Saturday of the month.

Rushcliffe Borough Council has recognised the dedication of the market traders as part of the campaign that aims to celebrate the efforts of local business groups and individuals in encouraging businesses to thrive.

Portfolio Holder for Business and Transformation Cllr Andy Edyvean said: “Like so many local businesses across the Borough, the traders of Bingham Market are working hard to provide shoppers with enjoyable traditional market experience.

“The diverse range of produce and goods on offer at the market each week offers shoppers the opportunity to try something new or simply snap up a bargain every time they visit.”

Bingham Market Manager Ophelia Gamble said: “It’s absolutely brilliant that all the traders at Bingham’s popular Thursday market are being recognised for the friendly customer experience they provide.

“There’s lots happening at Bingham Market this year, so make sure you visit us if you haven’t already, and have a browse of our amazing selection of stalls!”
