Bingham woman charged after house fire

A woman is due to appear in court charged following a fire at an address in Bingham.

Emergency services were called to Chestnut Avenue at around 2.40am on Monday (22 March 2021) after a report of a fire inside the property.

Fire crews put the fire out and police arrested a suspect.

The fire caused damage to a carpet. No injuries were reported.

Kim Forsythe, 61, of Bingham, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, criminal damage and threats to commit criminal damage.

She is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 24 March 2021).

Detective Inspector Kim Binns, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully the fire was quickly contained after emergency services swiftly responded to this incident.

“Fires within peoples’ homes can have devastating consequences which is why we treat incidents like this with such seriousness.”
