Birds Bakery has revealed plans for a significant renovation of its flagship Lister Gate store in Nottingham city centre.
Lister Gate will temporarily close its doors on Saturday 18 April to undergo a complete transformation, reopening to welcome customers back on Thursday 30 April.
The store, which first opened in 2019, is the 13th to be redesigned as part of a rollout across all 62 branches in the East Midlands.
The refurbished store will incorporate the brand’s new spring green and teal colour palette, blending modern aesthetics with the 100-year heritage that has made Birds a household name.
Catering to busy office workers and city centre shoppers, the new-look bakery will offer a “grab-and-go” experience, as well as a new, improved seating area with additional tables for those who want to enjoy their treats in-store.
Jamie Bird, managing director of Birds Bakery, said: “We’re excited to be giving Lister Gate a makeover, as it truly is the heartbeat of our Nottingham presence.
“We’ve designed the new space with the city’s busy workers and shoppers in mind – people who want the quality experience and traditional taste that Birds is famous for, but need the speed and convenience of a modern ‘grab-and-go’ hub. We have added more tables and chairs so that our customers can sit and enjoy their lunch too.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to a contemporary new environment that still feels like the Birds they know and love.”
Birds Bakery’s Lister Gate store is located at 2–4 Lister Gate, Nottingham NG1 7DD and is open from 7:30 am–4 pm Monday to Saturday, and 9 am–4 pm on Sundays.
The store will continue to offer its pastries and sweet treats on Uber Eats and Just Eat.
