Police are investigating after a man’s body was found in Beeston Canal.
Officers were called to Canal Side, Beeston, around 1.30pm today (26 November) after a body was seen in the water.
Detective Inspector Sarah Moore, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Our officers are currently in attendance at Beeston Canal after a man’s body was discovered there.
“At this stage, the man’s death is being treated as unexplained, although we do not currently believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.
“His next of kin will be informed, while a file will be prepared for the Coroner in due course.
“We are still in the early stages of this investigation, so would ask people to please not speculate about what might have happened.
