A security cordon was established following the abrupt death of a man on a commercial street in Sherwood.
The event occurred in the vicinity of the Cheesecake Shop and the Coop store on Mansfield Road, Nottingham at around 7am on the morning of Wednesday, July 19.
Forensic experts were present at the location and a security perimeter was maintained throughout most of the morning, only to be removed later in the afternoon.
A representative from the Nottinghamshire Police stated:
“Police were called to Mansfield Road, Sherwood, at 7.11am today (Wednesday 19 July 2023) following reports of a man’s sudden death.
“At this point, the incident is not considered suspicious and a report will be compiled for the coroner’s review.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to the man’s loved ones during this incredibly challenging period.”
“This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner. Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
The man is yet to be formerly identified by police.
