A suspect has been charged with attempted murder after a man suffered serious knife injuries following a fight in the street.
Police were called to St Ann’s Way, St Ann’s, Nottingham, at around 11 pm on Sunday (24 November) following reports of an altercation between two people.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with injuries that are serious but not currently believed to be life-threatening. His condition is stable.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested on Tuesday (26 November).
He has since been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 28 November).
Detective Inspector Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect in this case.
“As we continue to progress with our investigation, we are still urging anyone who has information that could assist us with our inquiries, who hasn’t already come forward, to please contact us as soon as possible.”
