Boy remanded in custody after Nottingham city centre stabbing

A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court charged in connection with a report of a stabbing in the city centre.

The boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Saturday 16 March 2019) charged with Section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (20 March 2019).

The charges relate to a report of a fight involving a group of men which happened in Burton Street at about 4pm on Friday 8 March 2019.

A man suffered a stab wound to his arm during the incident.

Officers executed a warrant at an address in St Ann’s on Friday (15 March 2019) in relation to the incident, and recovered items including two knives from the property.

A 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of possession of a sharply-pointed article in a public place and Section 18 wounding has since been released under investigation.

A 44-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of affray and drugs offences has since been released under investigation.
