Boys and a woman arrested after knives carried in a Beeston play park

Two teenage boys and a woman have been arrested after knives were reportedly spotted on a park.

Two knives were seized from a house after reportedly being seen being carried around the park by two teenagers.

The boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested for possession of a bladed article, following the incident on Dovecote Lane Recreation Ground, Beeston, on Saturday (12 March 2022).

After seizing the knives, a 35-year-old woman was arrested for affray and causing criminal damage.

She was then also arrested for police assault after an officer was injured.

All three suspects have been bailed with conditions as enquiries continue.

Inspector Andy Wilson, of Nottinghamshire police, said: “It should go without saying but carrying a knife is very dangerous and there is never an excuse to have one in your possession in a public place.

“We take all reports of knife crime extremely seriously and will continue to act quickly to resolve any incidents involving knives in a safe manner.

“I would urge anyone with any additonal information about this incident – or about anyone else who may be in possession of a knife – to call us on 101, quoting number 516 of 12 March 2022.”
