Boys wearing bandanas chase each other through Notts park armed with a machete

It happened at around 6.50pm yesterday (Thursday 23 July) in Sutton Lawn Park.

Four boys have been arrested after Nottinghamshire Police received a report of youths wearing bandanas chasing each other.

It happened at around 6.50pm yesterday (Thursday 23 July) in Sutton Lawn Park. A machete was also said to have been seen.

Nottinghamshire Police officers attended and located four males nearby matching the descriptions.

The youths aged 14, 14, 16 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and public order offences and remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott said: “We take all reports of knife crime seriously and having received a report from a member of the public, officers were quickly at the scene and had made the arrests within minutes.

We continue to make enquiries and are appealing to anyone who saw what happened or who saw anything suspicious to contact us on 101.”
