Local health leaders have been advised that from 29 March for four weeks there will be some shortages.
The shortage is expected to last for around four weeks or so.
4 million doses are expected to be delivered in the UK this week, but after then shortages may be seen.
The Government still expects to hit targets on 50-55 year-olds – no-one who has booked a vaccine will lose their appointment.
Second doses are also ongoing.
All vaccination sites in England have been told to not book anyone under 50 in for their first dose between 1 and 30 April and to concentrate instead on  everyone over 50 years old and any second dose appointments due.
