Breaking: Stabbing in Sneinton in broad daylight – man in hospital

A cordon is in place in St Stephen’s Road  in Sneinton.

Police say a man has been taken to hospital after the incident.

“The attack happened in broad daylight and we know there were a number of people in the area at the time.

“We take all reports of knife crime extremely seriously and our enquiries are moving at pace to trace the suspect.

“Officers were called to Sneinton at around 1.10pm on Friday May 7 following a report of the attack. It was reported a man with a knife ran from the scene towards Newark Avenue.

“The suspect has been described as black, with dreadlocks and is around 5’9” tall.

“I would like to reassure the local community that officers were quickly on the scene to ensure that there was no risk to the wider public. They will remain in the area to offer community reassurance and actively searching for the suspect.

“If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area to contact the force immediately. If you have any information please call 101, quoting incident 320 of 7 May 2021, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
