Bridgford Social Club has opened a refurbished venue on Rectory Road in West Bridgford, offering a range of social, sporting and entertainment facilities for members and their guests.
The club, which operates as a not-for-profit organisation, includes a lounge and separate bar area, both fitted with air-conditioning. Facilities include a pool table, dartboard and a dedicated snooker room with three full-size tables. Entry is controlled via a secure keypad system. Accompanied children are permitted in the club until 9pm, with later attendance possible by prior arrangement.
The club is open for four lunchtimes and five evenings each week for most of the year. The bar serves beers, including alcohol-free options, along with wines, spirits, soft drinks and hot beverages. Filled rolls are available during many lunchtime sessions. Club officials say prices are kept competitive due to its not-for-profit status.
A programme of regular events is held throughout the year. These include live music on most Saturday evenings, weekly social activities such as bingo and quizzes, and seasonal events including Burns Night suppers, Halloween events, summer barbecues and a New Year’s Eve celebration with live entertainment.
The venue has free on-site parking and is fully wheelchair accessible, with baby-changing facilities also available. Well-behaved dogs on leads are permitted, except during live music events. Members may bring guests, with a small charge applied depending on the event.
Private function rooms are available for celebrations, wakes, community meetings and business events. Members can book rooms free of charge, while non-members can hire them for a fee. Catering options, including hot and cold buffets, can be arranged.
Club secretary Tracy Shepley said the venue aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for the local community. She added that membership has grown to around 300 people, with applications accepted throughout the year, subject to club rules.
