Brief search reveals hundreds of pounds of heroin and crack cocaine

Hundreds of pounds worth of suspected crack cocaine and heroin were found tucked in a suspect’s boxer shorts after he was pulled over by police.

Officers from the City Knife Crime Team were on routine patrol at around 11.30 am on Wednesday when they pulled over a car in Southampton Street, St Ann’s.

The occupants were searched and the drugs were recovered.

Several mobile phones and a quantity of cash were also seized.

Two men, aged 22 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and later released on bail.

PC Adam Scotney, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “In the city knife crime team we are working every day to take dangerous weapons and drugs off of our streets.

“We regularly stop suspect vehicles in this way and on this occasion it didn’t take us long to find what we were looking for.”
