Broadmarsh ‘walkthrough’ to close overnight from Monday 24th as work begins

The pedestrian walkthrough between Lister Gate and Collin Street will close overnight on 24th June until the centre is fully developed.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager said: “Our regeneration works at intu Broadmarsh are now well underway and we’re starting to see some exciting changes in the centre. From Monday 24 June, we will need to close the walkway between Collin Street and Lister Gate each night between 7pm to 7am to safely carry out work in that area. The overnight closures will then be in place until the centre is fully redeveloped, however the walkway will be open as usual during the day.

“We’re really sorry for the inconvenience the overnight closures will cause, but signage will be in place to guide people along a short diversion via Maid Marian Way and Castle Gate, and vice-versa.

“If you usually use the walkway at night, please allow a little extra time for your journey, especially if you are travelling to and from the train station.

“Thank you for your ongoing patience as the works progress. We can’t wait to deliver a range of new experiences for everyone to enjoy as they shop, work and play in the city.”
