Broadway Cinema and Lakeside Arts announce a series of evening outdoor cinema screenings set to take place at Lakeside on the August Bank Holiday weekend and running into September.
The line-up features a diverse selection of films, ranging from timeless classics to contemporary hits, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Audiences can look forward to an immersive viewing experience with high-quality sound and visuals, set against the serene backdrop of the lake as the sun goes down.
The opening weekend will feature the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody (Sat 24 Aug) and the critically acclaimed Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense (Sun 25 Aug).
Before the end of the summer holidays, we’ll be screening the family hit Wonka (Fri 30 Aug). Then, moving into September, the timeless horror classic An American Werewolf in London (Fri 6 Sept) makes its way to the big screen, before ending with Baz Luhrmann’s musical extravaganza Moulin Rouge! (Sat 7 Sept).
Broadway Cinema’s Director of Marketing Stewart Terry is looking forward to taking the Broadway experience to such an iconic Nottingham location:
“We’re delighted to bring the magic of cinema to Lakeside, one of Nottingham’s most beautiful locations. This series offers a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a season of eclectic films at sunset. We look forward to welcoming film lovers of all ages.”
Lakeside Arts’ CEO Ben Howarth is delighted to welcome Broadway Cinema to University Park Campus: “This is a fabulous opportunity for Lakeside Arts to further diversify its programme over the summer, welcome new people to Lakeside and make the most of our beautiful parkland location. I’ve been keen to work more closely with Broadway since arriving at Lakeside and hopefully this is the start of a long-lasting partnership.”
Audiences will be able to purchase the traditional popcorn on the night, but everyone is welcome to bring their own food, drinks and chairs to make the nights as memorable as possible as we head into the last few weeks of summer.
