Police are investigating after builders found what are believed to be human bones while carrying out work in Halam, Newark.
A cordon has been put in place while a forensic and archaeological examination is carried out into the discovery in Back Lane at 3.05pm yesterday (Friday 13 November).
Enquiries will include whether the site is connected to a nearby church burial ground.
