Update: Asbestos risk – Bulwell residents urged to keep windows and doors closed after building fire breaks out

Fire crews are at the scene of a building fire at Thames Street in Bulwell.

Updated – Notts Fire 12:27 pm – Due to a risk of asbestos in the smoke please avoid the area around Thames Street Bulwell and we ask local residents to close their doors and windows.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said that crews from Arnold, Stockhill, London Road, Eastwood and Ilkeston at the scene.

An aerial ladder platform is being deployed.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “11:13am, crews from Stockhill Station, Arnold Station, London Road Station, Eastwood Station and Ilkeston are in attendance at building fire on Thames Street, Bulwell. One hose reel is in use at present.”

“Please avoid the area if possible and we ask local residents to close their door and windows if affected by the smoke.”
