Bunny Improvement Group presented with commemorative bench

Local community group Bunny Improvement Group, has won a special commemorative seating bench from value garden centre Cherry Lane Bradmore.

The competition ran as part of Cherry Lane’s 21st anniversary celebrations earlier this year, and invited customers to nominate a worthy cause in their local community to receive the special hardwood bench.

The nominations were reviewed and counted by the Cherry Lane team, with Bunny Improvement Group chosen. The bench has just been presented and will be taking pride of place in Bunny, near to Fairham Brook where it will offer a view of Bunny Moors.

Pete Pearson of Bunny Improvement Group, said:

“We are delighted to receive this lovely seating bench from Cherry Lane, which will be a great addition to the village’s commemorations for the Queen’s Jubilee.

“We are grateful to Cherry Lane and all its customers who voted for BIG. We can’t wait to site the bench in our chosen location.”

John Burrell, manager at Cherry Lane Bradmore, said: “As a local business, we are keen to support our local community and it seemed fitting to give something back as we celebrate this milestone in Cherry Lane’s history.

“We had some brilliant suggestions from our customers for this competition – it was extremely hard to choose just one worthy winner. We are very pleased to present this commemorative bench to Bunny Improvement Group, which we hope will be enjoyed for many years to come.”

A total of 21 benches have been donated by Cherry Lane to worthy causes in the areas around its garden centres as part of the 21st anniversary celebrations.

The UK’s only value garden centre group, Cherry Lane was established in 2001. During the past 21 years, Cherry Lane has gone from strength to strength, starting as a group of three garden centres in East Anglia and growing to 17 across the country today, reaching from Suffolk to Worcester and Essex to Yorkshire.

Cherry Lane now also has five of its own on-site nurseries, which cultivate the group’s Grown by Us range of homegrown plants that are sold across the business.
