Burglar arrested after police chase through the streets

Officers made an arrest within five minutes of a reported burglary after chasing down a suspect on foot.

They had been alerted to a break-in at a student property in Osmaston Street in Lenton at 11.30pm on Friday 2 December 2022.

It was reported a man left the address through a window empty-handed before going straight to another house nearby, in Hart Street, where a further burglary took place.

Officers were quickly on scene and searched the area. A suspect was identified who was chased, stopped, detained and searched.

A number of stolen goods, including jewellery and electrical items, were recovered and a man was arrested.
