As part of the Gedling Access Road construction, the A612 between Victoria Retail Park, Netherfield and Burton Road, Burton Joyce will be closed from 20:00 on Friday 17 July 2020 to 06:00 on Monday 20 July 2020 inclusive.
Nottingham City Transport said:
‘The closure is to allow for new highway drains to be installed and the works will be completed over a weekend, which avoids the need for weeks of temporary traffic lights and queuing traffic.
Nottinghamshire County Council has brought forward these works, which will also avoid several months of disruption in the autumn and allows Burton Road to re-open up to 2 months earlier than planned.
During the closure, Pathfinder 26 buses will not be able to serve Burton Joyce, part of Burton Road or Stoke Lane and will be diverted in both directions along Shearing Hill, Arnold Lane, Lambley Lane, Spring Lane, Lambley, Park Lane, Lambley Road, A6097 to Lowdham roundabout.
On Friday 17th July, last buses that will pass through Burton Joyce are:
From Nottingham to Burton Joyce: 19:00
From Burton Joyce to Nottingham: 19:47
From Southwell to Burton Joyce: 19:14
From Burton Joyce to Southwell: 19:26
On Monday 20th July, the 06:01 from Burton Joyce will follow the diversion route, with the first bus to depart Burton Joyce to Nottingham at 06:31.
We are sorry that we are unable to provide any service to Burton Joyce during this closure.
When planning for these works, we assessed diverting buses through Stoke Bardolph, but the road width and parked vehicles on Station Road do not allow for buses to safely pass each other and other vehicles. We are also unable to provide a shuttle bus due to current staff availability. ‘
