Bus service changes across network for Nottingham 10K Sunday 10 March

On Sunday 10 March 2024, there will be severe disruption to most bus services whilst roads in and around the City Centre are closed from start of service until lunchtime whilst the Nottingham 10K Run for All event takes places.

Most services will not be able to access the City Centre and will terminate on the outskirts, as detailed below. This will impact on people who change buses in the City Centre, with walks of up to 10 minutes required between the temporary terminal stops.

NCT recommend you allow extra time for your journeys throughout the morning, with all services expected to have returned to normal by 12:00pm.

Buses will serve all stops on their diversion routes.

Here are the recommended drop off and pick up points for all services during the Nottingham 10K:

City Centre diversion map

Navy 1 and 48

Buses will start and finish on Carrington Street, near Nottingham Station.

Buses will not serve stops on Canal Street, Maid Marian Way or Beastmarket Hill.

Buses will depart Carrington Street at their usual Nottingham Station times. 

Diversion map for navy and green services

Green 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

Buses will start and finish on Carrington Street, near Nottingham Station.

Buses will not serve stops on Fletcher Gate, George Street, Parliament Street (Elite or Victoria Centre), Angel Row, Maid Marian Way or Canal Street.

Buses will depart Carrington Street at their usual Nottingham Station times.

Diversion map for navy and green services

Brown 15, 16, 17

Buses will start and finish on Burton Street, alongside the Cornerhouse.

Between Forest Recreation Ground and the City Centre, buses will divert in both directions along Gregory Boulevard, Alfreton Road and through Canning Circus.

Towards City, buses will use Talbot Street, Shakespeare Street, South Sherwood Street and North Church Street to Burton Street. From City, buses will use Upper Parliament Street and Derby Road to Canning Circus.

Buses will not serve stops along Mansfield Road (between Forest Recreation Ground and City) or on Milton Street.

Customers who normally interchange between Brown Line and Pink, Orange or Turquoise Lines should change buses at Canning Circus.

Buses will aim to depart Burton Street at their usual Milton Street times, but delays are expected because of the diversion route.

Diversion map for brown, yellow, lime and purple services

Lilac 25, 26, 27

Buses will start and finish near the Motorpoint Arena / NCT Bus Garage.

Buses towards City Centre will terminate at Southwell Road. Buses away from the City Centre will start on Manvers Street (coded SN25).

Buses will not be able to serve any stops at Hockley, Victoria Centre or on King Street.

Buses will depart Manvers Street at their usual Boston Street times.

Diversion map for lilac, red 43 and blue 39

Pink 28, 30

These services will follow their normal routes and serve all stops as usual.

Delays are expected.

Orange 34

Buses will start and finish on Angel Row.

Buses will not serve any stops on Maid Marian Way, Canal Street, Cranbrook Street, Bellar Gate or Parliament Street (Victoria Centre or Angel Row).

Buses will depart Angel Row at their usual Angel Row times.

Orange 35, 36

These services will follow their normal routes and serve all stops as usual.

Delays are expected.

Blue 39

Buses will start and finish near the Motorpoint Arena / NCT Bus Garage.

Buses towards City Centre will follow their normal route to the end of Robin Hood Street, then turn left Bath Street and then right to terminate at Southwell Road. Buses away from the City Centre will start on Manvers Street (coded SN25) then operate right and left Bath Street, resuming normal route from Robin Hood Street.

Buses will not be able to serve any stops on Bath Street, at Victoria Centre or on Queen Street.

Buses will depart Manvers Street at their usual Queen Street times.

Blue 40, 41, 42

Buses will start at finish at the end of St Ann’s Well Road near Curzon House / Depot Climbing Nottingham.

Buses will not be able to serve any stops on King Edward Street, at Victoria Centre or on Queen Street.

Buses will depart St Ann’s Well Road (Curzon Street) 4 minutes after their usual Queen Street times.

Diversion map for blue line services

Red 43

Buses will start and finish near the Motorpoint Arena / NCT Bus Garage.

Buses towards City Centre will terminate at Southwell Road. Buses away from the City Centre will start on Manvers Street (coded SN25).

Buses will not be able to serve any stops at Hockley, Victoria Centre or on King Street.

Buses will depart Manvers Street at their usual Boston Street times.

Diversion map for lilac, red 43 and blue 39

Red 44

Buses will start and finish near the Motorpoint Arena / NCT Bus Garage.

Buses towards City Centre will terminate at Southwell Road. Buses away from the City Centre will start opposite BioCity on Pennyfoot Street (coded SN49).

Buses will not be able to serve any stops at Hockley, Victoria Centre or on King Street.

Buses will depart Pennyfoot Street two minutes after their usual Boston Street times.

Diversion map for red services

Sky Blue 45, 46, 47

Buses will start at finish at the end of St Ann’s Well Road near Curzon House / Depot Climbing Nottingham.

Towards City, buses will follow their normal route along Woodborough Road then divert left along Shelton Street, right St Ann’s Well Road. Buses towards Mapperley will depart St Ann’s Well Road, left Shelton Street, right Woodborough Road to normal route.

Buses will not be able to serve any stops at Victoria Centre, Parliament Street or on Queen Street.

Buses will depart St Ann’s Well Road (Curzon Street) at their usual Queen Street or Parliament Street times.

Diversion map for sky blue services

Red 50

Buses will start and finish on Pennyfoot Street, outside BioCity.

Buses towards Victoria Retail Park will depart Pennyfoot Street, left Lower Parliament Street, BBC Island, left London Road and Citylink to normal route.

Buses will not serve stops on Fletcher Gate, George Street, Parliament Street (Elite or Victoria Centre), Angel Row, Maid Marian Way or Canal Street.

Buses will depart Pennyfoot Street at their usual Citylink (East) times.

Diversion map for red services

Lime 56, 58, 59

Buses will start and finish on Burton Street, alongside the Cornerhouse.

Between Forest Recreation Ground and the City Centre, buses will divert in both directions along Gregory Boulevard, Alfreton Road and through Canning Circus.

Between the bottom of Sherwood Rise and the City Centre, buses will divert in both directions along Gregory Boulevard, Alfreton Road and through Canning Circus.

Towards City, buses will use Talbot Street, Shakespeare Street, South Sherwood Street and North Church Street to Burton Street. From City, buses will use Upper Parliament Street and Derby Road to Canning Circus.

Buses will not serve stops along Mansfield Road (between Forest Recreation Ground and City) or on Milton Street.

Customers who normally interchange between Yellow Line and Pink, Orange or Turquoise Lines should change buses at Canning Circus.

Buses will aim to depart Burton Street at their usual Milton Street times, but delays are expected because of the diversion route.

Turquoise 77, 78, 79

Buses will start and finish on Beastmarket Hill (coded B3) in the Old Market Square.

After departing Tollhouse Hill, buses will continue along Maid Marian Way, left Friar Lane, left Beastmarket Hill to terminate. Buses will leave the City using Angel Row, Mount Street, right Maid Marian Way to normal route.

Buses will not serve any stops on Maid Marian Way, Canal Street, Fletcher Gate, George Street or Parliament Street (including Victoria Centre).

Buses will depart Beastmarket Hill at their usual Victoria Centre times.

Diversion map for turquoise services

Purple 87, 88, 89

Buses will start and finish on Burton Street, alongside the Cornerhouse.

Between Forest Recreation Ground and the City Centre, buses will divert in both directions along Gregory Boulevard, Alfreton Road and through Canning Circus.

Towards City, buses will use Talbot Street, Shakespeare Street, South Sherwood Street and North Church Street to Burton Street. From City, buses will use Upper Parliament Street and Derby Road to Canning Circus.

Buses will not serve stops along Mansfield Road (between Forest Recreation Ground and City) or on Parliament Street.
