Cannabis grow found in Sutton Bonington property

Proactive police patrols lead to cannabis grow discovered in Sutton Bonington.

Police said:

‘Officers from the Rushcliffe South Neighbourhood Policing Team were out on patrol in Sutton Bonington last night when they noticed a distinctive smell coming from the area.

‘Following their noses, officers made further enquiries, arrested a local male and located a cannabis grow inside a premises on Main Road.’

‘Cannabis cultivation is not a victimless crime. The production and use of cannabis can have serious negative impacts, including links to mental health issues, exploitation by organised criminal groups, and wider harm to our communities.

‘There are also significant fire risks associated with cannabis grows. Illegal setups often involve unsafe electrical wiring, overloaded circuits and high‑powered lighting, which greatly increase the risk of fire and put neighbouring properties and residents at risk.’
