Cannabis sweets seized after car stopped in Nottingham

Cannabis sweets were seized and a man was arrested following a car stop in Arboretum.

Armed policing officers on patrol spotted the vehicle, which had previously been linked to criminal activity, in Forest Road East, around 1.40am on Tuesday (10 March).

Following a stop and search of the car, suspected cannabis edibles were located underneath the front passenger seat.

Deal bags, two mobile phones, and cash were also seized.

Drug paraphernalia and two more phones were later found at an address in Trentham Drive, Leen Valley.

A 26-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the Class B drug cannabis.

He has since been released on police bail as the investigation continues.

Inspector Chris Chell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“While on patrol our officers are always on the look-out for suspicious activity and vehicles which have previously been linked to criminality.

“Stops like this ensure we detect criminal activity, take drugs take off the streets and ultimately help keep communities safe.”
