Car Audio Centre, the Nottingham-based in-car entertainment specialist, has confirmed plans to relocate its Mansfield Road store to larger premises on Alfreton Road.
The store is one of three specialists across the country (the others being in Ilford and Tooting) whilst it also has a concession in Lincoln, through Superfi, on the town’s High Street.
Three new jobs will be created at the new store, which will take a unit next to Superfi Smart Homes on Alfreton Road and connect internally to Nottingham Hi-Fi, linking all 3 shops into a “one stop shop to kit out your car and home”.
Superfi was previously in the city’s Market Square before closing in February 2019. It was then brought back to life by Nottingham group In Phase International, which also owns the iconic Road Angel brand and Nottingham Hi-Fi.
Superfi’s reinvigoration with new products and services, including a wider range of electrical goods for the home after it was acquired by In Phase International followed that of Nottingham Hi-Fi, which the group acquired the previous year.
That store received a major £100,000+ investment and sales have soared since, with the store hosting a visit from renowned rappers D-Block Europe last year.
Gary Digva, Sales Director at In Phase International said;
“We’re pleased to announce that we will be bringing Car Audio Centre closer to the city centre and into what is now a central hub for all things hi-fi on Alfreton Road. Whilst the high street continues to struggle, we’ve actually seen a big rise in both online and offline sales due in part to larger numbers of people planning ‘Staycations’ and spending more time in their cars.
“As such, they are investing in new technology to improve their driving experience, be it speed awareness monitoring devices from Road Angel or simply wanting to add that boost of bass, surround sound or in-car entertainment. That can only be achieved through a high quality system and expert advice, which is what we can provide online and in person, so we are pleased to be creating jobs at our new site to do just that.
“We are creating a one-stop shop for your home and car audio needs by connecting all three premises up internally and expect to become a real hive of activity for all sound, vision and tech fans.”
The new showroom is scheduled to open in August.
