Car seized after driver fled following ‘no seatbelt stop’

Neighbourhood officers in Nottingham city centre are clamping down on the four main causes of road traffic collisions.

Speeding, drink and drug driving, driving while distracted and non-wearing of seat-belts.

The proactive operation led to officers stopping a car in King’s Street after its driver was spotted without a seatbelt.

The driver ran off from the vehicle but can expect a hefty fine in the post and potential disqualification for driving without a seatbelt and having no insurance.

The abandoned vehicle was seized by officers.
