Carrier bag full of cannabis cookies found in a car in The Meadows

Three men have been arrested after a carrier bag full of cannabis cookies was found in a car.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s knife crime team were patrolling the Meadows area when they received information about a black Ford Fiesta which was parked on Summer Leys Lane.

They carried out a stop search and located the drugs in the boot shortly after 8.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 April).

The three men, aged 19, 20 and 20, were taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Neighbourhood Inspector Karl Thomas, said: “We have a number of teams actively patrolling our streets and they work with intelligence and information provided from members of the public to uncover any criminality.

“Drug supply is taken extremely seriously as it fuels all manner of crimes and preys on vulnerable people in our society so we are working to eradicate it in Nottinghamshire.

“The three men remain in custody and a substantial amount of cannabis goods have now been taken out of the supply chain.”

The cash has been seized and will be subject to a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) investigation.
