Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a cash machine was ripped from a wall of a shop in Cropwell Bishop overnight.
Officers were called to Co-operative Food, Nottingham Road, after 2.10am today (3 October) following reports a digger had been used to pull a cash machine from the shop’s wall.
The cash machine was located with a quantity of cash missing.
Officers are studying CCTV of the incident and carrying out other local inquiries but are asking for help from anyone with information about what happened.
A cordon remains in place at the scene as the investigation progresses.

Detective Sergeant Ben Skellern, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The raid has caused a considerable amount of damage to the shop and we are determined to track down those responsible.
“The local neighbourhood policing team have also stepped-up patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.

“Anyone who may have further information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 35 of 3 October 2025.
“We’d particularly like to hear from those who may have dashcam footage of the digger and a red pick-up truck believed to be involved.”
