Castle Gym announces progress in its ongoing redevelopment project.
After months of meticulous planning and dedicated construction, the gym is one step closer to opening its doors to the community.
The redevelopment, which has garnered considerable local interest, has seen substantial advancements in recent weeks. Key milestones include the complete removal of the building’s front façade, including the shutter and mosaic features, marking a pivotal stage in the transformation.
“We are incredibly thrilled with the progress we’ve made,” said Luke Willmott, CEO of Castle Gym. “The demolition phase has been intense, but it’s essential to create the foundation for our state-of-the-art facility. We are committed to delivering a gym that Nottingham can be proud of.”

Ray Brewin, a dedicated team member with over 40 years of service at the gym, has been instrumental in the demolition efforts. “It’s been hard work, but seeing the building change day by day has been amazing. We’re building something special here,” Ray shared.
The project has also seen the arrival of groundworkers, who are now preparing the site for concrete pouring, a crucial step in the construction timeline. Additionally, the team successfully managed the challenging removal of the old staircase, clearing the way for new and improved facilities.
Castle Gym aims to offer a comprehensive fitness experience, featuring top-of-the-line equipment, expert training, and a supportive community atmosphere. The gym is committed to creating a space where individuals of all fitness levels can achieve their goals.
“We are grateful for the continued support from the Nottingham community,” Willmott added. “We are working diligently to bring our vision to life and look forward to welcoming everyone to Castle Gym soon.”
