CCTV appeal after £3,600 stolen from pizza takeaway

Police have released an image of a person they’d like to speak to after as much as £3,600 was stolen during an overnight burglary.

A man was captured on CCTV breaking into a takeaway pizza place in the middle of the night and making off with a safe containing between £3,000 and £3,500, as well as £100 in cash from the till.

Stills taken from the footage show a man wearing a high visibility jacket and a beanie hat, taking money from the till after breaking into Mr T’s Pizza, in Bagnall Road, Old Basford.

The burglary took place on 23 January, between 2.59am and 5.05am, with CCTV footage taken from a neighbouring store showing the suspect appearing from and exiting in the direction of Violet Close.

Police Constable Alex Treweek, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We would ask that anyone who recognises this man, or who may have more information about this burglary, comes forward and lets us know as soon as possible.

“We understand that as much as £3,600 was stolen during this incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday 23 January, and that the suspect would’ve been seen carrying the safe as he left the store.

“If you have any information that could assist us with our enquiries, we would ask that you please call us on 101 quoting reference number 193 on 23 January 2022.”
