An 82-year-old woman was followed and attacked from behind by a man in Hall Drive, Chilwell, at around 8.45pm on Saturday. She had no property on her and the man ran off after she screamed and was seen by a passer-by.

About half an hour later a 35-year-old woman was followed before being grabbed from behind and bundled to the floor in Caldbeck Court, Chilwell. She had a chain ripped from her neck and a handbag stolen.

An 80-year-old woman reported being followed from Sainsbury’s in Blenheim Drive, Chilwell on to the tram into Beeston at around midday yesterday. After becoming distressed she walked into B&M Bargains to raise the alarm.

Then at 2.45pm, a woman ran off after a man attempted to follow her in Aldene Court, Chilwell.

It is believed the incidents are linked.

Inspector Steve Wragg, of Nottinghamshire Police, appealed for anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward.

“We believe the suspect has been using the tram and tram lines to follow vulnerable women. This is a very clear image of a person of interest to the investigation and I’m confident somebody seeing this will know who he is. We would urge people to be vigilant, be aware of your surroundings and if you believe you have seen the man pictured please contact us.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 791 of 9 September 2017, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
