CCTV released after ‘violent robbery’ in Nottingham city centre

Police are investigating a violent city centre robbery where a man’s mobile phone and wallet was stolen.

The 22-year-old victim has been on a night out when he was punched and kicked by two suspects and then robbed of his mobile phone and wallet.

His bank cards were then used at a number of stores, but all payments failed as the cards had been cancelled.

The incident happened on Friday October 24 at around 4 am in Clumber Street.

Police in the city have carried out a number of lines of inquiry including an extensive CCTV search to locate those responsible.

They have now released an image of a number of people they wish to trace who could help further the investigation.

Investigator Alex Freeman, from the City’s robbery team, said:

“This is an extremely serious crime, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that these violent individuals are caught and put before the courts.

“The victim was just enjoying his night out when he was punched and kicked by two men completely unknown to him.

“Not only did they attack him, but they stole his personal belongings while he lay on the ground defenceless. They then tried to use his hard-earned money to buy items for themselves.

“This is despicable and cowardly behaviour, and it is vitally important we stop these people so that no one else gets hurt.

“We are calling on the public’s help by releasing images of a number of people that could help us with our inquiries.
