Police are asking the public for help after a man was punched in the face and kicked after boarding a tram.
The victim, aged in his 50s, tried to intervene after a group of youths started arguing with the tram driver but he was then struck to the face, causing his nose to bleed. He was then kicked numerous times.
Officers investigating the assault are now in a position to release images of four youths they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which happened at the Butler’s Hill tram stop in Hucknall between midnight and 12.20am on 19 June 2026.
PC Thomas Feron, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a despicable attack on a man just trying to help the tram driver.
“This sort of violence will not be tolerated on our tram network and we are working hard to trace those responsible.
“As part of our inquiries we have now released images of four youths we believe could help us with our investigation.
“We’d urge them, or anyone who recognises those pictured, to please come forward and get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
