Former Olympian opens West Bridgford’s Century Court

There was cause for celebration on Thursday (16th March) as former Olympian, Dame Mary Peters, joined local people for the grand opening of McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living development, Century Court, which is situated on Wilford Lane.

Dame Mary Peters was on hand to mark the official opening of the development by performing the ceremonial ribbon cutting and talk about her Olympic memories, while guests made the most of their first opportunity to take a tour of the fully-furnished show apartment and toast the new development with a glass of fizz and canapés.

Designed for the discerning over 60s, Century Court presents a collection of 36 one and two bedroom luxury apartments, priced from £199,450 and £273,950 respectively. Potential purchasers can also take advantage of McCarthy and Stone’s range of tailored incentives, aimed at making moving easier.

Cheryl Bissett, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “Our aim is to help older people stay independent for longer and to really make the most of their retirement, so we are delighted Century Court has already proven so popular. We are very thankful to Dame Mary Peters for taking the time out of her busy schedule to visit our highly prestigious new development, and we are honoured she was able to join us to mark its official opening.”

Retirees who make Century Court their home will be able to relax in the homeowners’ lounge, which is ideal for socialising with friends, as well as spending time in development’s landscaped gardens. Should homeowners wish for friends or relatives to stay over, a convenient guest suite will be available, to ensure all visitors enjoy a comfortable stay.

Century Court will also benefit from its own House Manager, who will take care of the smooth-running of the development; while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for both homeowners and their families.

In an enviable location, West Bridgford is rich with striking architecture, charming Victorian buildings and a medieval church and bridge, Century Court is conveniently close to plenty of modern amenities including shops, banks, a library and an array of restaurants and coffee shops.
