Author Paul Linnet paid a visit to two West Bridgford primary schools this week.
Children at Lady Bay Primary and Pierrepont Gamston Primary were in for a treat this week as renowned author Paul Linnet, best known for the popular “Super Tato” series which he writes with the talented Sue Hendra, paid a visit to both schools on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 June.
During his two-day visit, Paul Linnet engaged with students in reception, year 1, and year 2, reading them some of their beloved stories, sharing insights into the life of an author, and sparking their creativity by encouraging them to create their own superhero vegetables.
The impact of Paul Linnet’s visit was evident in the writing and drawing produced by the children, with staff members at both schools being amazed by the inspiration he instilled in the young minds.
Claire Bills, Head Teacher at Pierrepont Gamston Primary School said:
“What a wonderful way to bring their learning to life. The children at Pierrepont Gamston always do a topic looking at Paul Linnet’s books and to get to meet him in person blew them away!”
“For the students, meeting a successful author like Paul Linnet was an unforgettable experience, as they had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the world of storytelling.”
Jane Hewitt at Lady Bay Primary School added:
‘ The children loved listening to Paul Linnet play the guitar and especially enjoyed joining in with the lyrics to his silly Supertato song!’
‘The children did not stop smiling and laughing during his visit! In fact some are still giggling about some of the funny things Paul said two days later!’
